Pony Power Details

This Saturday Troop 2776 will be participating in Pony Power at Camp Pine Acres. The activity begins promptly at 1pm. We will meet at the church at 12 noon and leave the parking lot by 12:10. Visit http://www.girlscoutsnwga.org for directions to the camp. Meet us at the camp if you cannot make it to the church in time.

WHAT TO WEAR:

For Pet a Pony, Intro to Horsemanship, Pony Power and Vaulting (all lead-line programs)

Participants must wear long pants (no capris or overalls) and closed-toe, sturdy shoes. Tennis shoes are acceptable. Camp will provide safety approved riding helmets. Girls who wear their hair in high ponytails, banana clips, etc. will have to remove them to wear a helmet.

About PONY POWER:

This program has been developed for Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts who would like to step up from Pet-A-Pony or Introduction to Horsemanship, but might not be ready to earn their Horse Fan Badge. The one-hour program includes a fun lecture on the history and origins of ponies and a lead-line riding session through a simple obstacle course. Actual riding time per person is 8-10 minutes.

Children/Siblings:

Please keep all children and siblings who are not in the troop outside the barn unless invited.
